Huntington Beach Reads One Book, a 501c3 organization, is celebrating our 12th year promoting diversity throughout our community, including the seven area high schools in the HB school district. We are a team of community volunteers who encourage our community to celebrate diversity through reading and literacy.
Each year, we select a book for the community and high school students in the Huntington Beach school district to read in an effort to promote compassion and diversity. This year’s reading selection is Double Luck: Memoirs of a Chinese Orphan by Lu Chi Fa. We will be hosting several events including children’s events, a tea tasting, and more leading up to our author discussion on March 28, 2019, with a visit by the author during a fundraising event at the Huntington Beach Central Library.
